Parkour with Coach Bryce for children in the Tzahov Room children.

Parkour is a way to move over, under or through obstacles in your path. This class will teach and reinforce the fundamentals of jumping, landing, and climbing. Children will benefit from this class by gaining more confidence, becoming stronger, as well as increased proprioception and body awareness.

Little Innovators for children in the Tzahov Room

Little Innovators presented by the Brooklyn Robot Foundry offers children the opportunity to build and create on their own, supported by knowledgeable and experienced Mechanical Engineers dedicated to promoting STEM learning in all grade levels, resulting not only in a cool robot but also in increased confidence. This program encourages creativity and independent thinking from all builders. Children are provided with the guidelines for each day’s robots, but the final design is up to the student.

Modeled off our popular Turning Two's program, My Big Class is a "taste of preschool" experience. Children will engage in multi-sensory activities, have daily opportunities for open play and gross motor activities, be exposed to classroom routines, enjoy singing and dancing with our resident musician Yonatan, as well as a movement special! My Little Class provides little ones with their caregivers an opportunity to engage with various open ended materials and motor skill activities, enjoy music and movement with our resident musician, socialize with other children and experience elements of a classroom routine including story and morning circle. MLC also incorporates parent/caregiver education through developmentally centered conversations led by our parent educator, Susie Meisler. Children will learn to transition from one activity to the next, building the foundation of a classroom routine. The primary goal of this program is to encourage the development of positive social skills and sense of self in a nurturing and supportive environment. Emphasis is on independence and communication and building a sense of community among the children and caregivers. Caregivers must remain on site.

Process Art for children in the Tzahov Room

We are excited to offer for the first time an after school Process Art Workshop for our little learners with Morah Chaya and Morah Tayla. Process art is a thinking tool! Engaging with artistic materials in playful ways, without worrying about an end product, helps to shape children's thinking and problem solving skills. When educators are curious about the product and the process, they can support children's ability to reflect and make meaningful connections. The process of art-making provides children with an uninhibited outlet for self-expression and authenticity, promoting creativity in each child's own individual manner, and helping children to manage feelings and find strategies to help regulate their emotions.

Mix, chop, and whisk your way into the culinary magic of "Chefs in the Kitchen" with Morah Tayla & Morah Chaya! In this after-school program, students will learn to develop creative expression and prepare child-friendly recipes. Classes will incorporate literacy & math skills, movement, and social skills. Children will learn technical skills, like tool use, and learn the how and why behind cooking rather than just the what. Your child will learn their way around their kitchen and who knows, they might even earn a Michelin Star!

Musical Lunch Bunch meets on Fridays for children in our Kachol and Keshet class, and offers a once a week extended day to develop Jewish values and love for Shabbat. Music class includes MLS teacher alongside a musical instructor, experimentation with instruments, dancing and movement, and exploring new and exciting tunes. Pizza will be provided for lunch.

Bring your coffee and your questions to a monthly moms group with MLS parent educator Susie Meisler. With over 50 years of experience in the early childhood and parenting space, Susie is a wealth of information and a seasoned and responsive facilitator. Each class will begin with an article or topic based on the group's interests, and then will open up to conversation.
